- To make the rice mix, combine the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl and toss to mix. Rinse the mixture under cold water for three minutes, agitating the grains to remove excess starch.
- When ready to cook, add the rice mix to your rice cooker along with 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of water and the salt. Set to cook on the sweet rice setting.
- When the rice is finished cooking, fluff with a fork or a rice paddle and close the lid. Let the rice steam for ten minutes before serving.
A quick tip from Julia
“This recipe makes 1 cup of dry grain mix. I multiply the dry ingredients by five and store them pre-mixed in my pantry, measuring out one cup at a time for cooking.”
Blending SIMPLi’s earthy tri-color quinoa, nutty amaranth, and signature Peruvian spice salt blend, this easy-to-make “crazy rice” is packed with the wholesome goodness of ancient grains and the bold flavor Peruvian spices, making it a great, versatile option for busy weeknights or as a fun, healthy addition to lunchboxes that both parents and kids will enjoy!

“I found SIMPLi through my interest in the regenerative organic movement—I'm a passionate gardener myself, so soil health is something I am very concerned about, along with pesticide free growing methods and labor practices. I really want to encourage people to scan their grocery shelves with the future of our planet in mind, not just what they are making for dinner. I get pretty excited when I find a brand that offers as much transparency as SIMPLi does” - Julia Sherman
